SEN (Special Education Needs) continues to be an ongoing area of development for us in Scoil Bhríde, Milltown. Within our school we currently have two full time SET (Special Education Teacher) positions, who provide additional support to our 209 pupils. This support is offered in keeping with the new SET allocation model.
The Board of Management have prioritised and invested significantly in SET over the last number of years, with the development of a small sensory/ calm space, the purchasing of additional OT equipment, investment in additional literacy and numeracy programmes alongside diagnostic testing kits and prioritising training for staff in various SET topics, such as Dyslexia, ASD etc.
We look forward to further progress in this area into the future and aim to continue to meet the needs of our many varied learners.
